Post game summary-Baltic Hurricanes(11-0) vs Monchengladbach Mavericks(9-3)

 Kiel Baltic Hurricanes victory against the Monchengladbach Mavericks  secured the Canes first seed and home field advantage for the upcoming play-offs. In front of 1356 spectators at Field Confima in Lübeck
the game began with a long kick return by Aaron Love, who brought the Hurricanes to the Mavericks 18 yard line. The Mavericks had a strong defense of stand and held the Hurricanes to missed field goal. The second drive  from the Canes ended with a fumble by Michael Andrew, the former Hurricane Lenny Greene for the Mavericks recovered the ball. The Defense of the Hurricanes held  Moenchengladbach to keep the score at 0-0. On the next drive for the Hurricanes Jeff Welsh / Aaron Love connected with a long pass across the field and eventually into the end zone (7-0).
The next touchdown was not long in coming. This time was Julian Dohrendorf  from Jeff Welsh, who carried the ball about 81 yards into the end zone and also kicked the PAT to (14:0). Then the Mavericks moved the ball with a long drive through the field. Fabian Schorn finally caught the pass from quarterback Colin Clancy Mönchengladbach to connect touchdown. The extra point attempt failed and so the Hurricanes went with a (14:6) lead at the break.
The Mavericks then came out in the third quarter to and scored a quick touchdown. Running back John MacCardle carried for the ball for a 15 yard touchdown. A failed two-point conversion followed(14-12) . During the subsequent kickoff, the canes could not secure the ball. So the Mavericks took control at the Hurricanes 40-yard line. Sascha Jungblut finished this drive with a 40-yard field goal at (14:15). But the reigning German champions could  rest. Philip Dohrendorf caught a 20-yard pass from Jeff Welsh began to (20:15). The Canes trying a two-point conversion failed.
In the final quarter then running back Michael Andrew crowned his performance with two running touchdowns. He first ran for eleven, then ten yards into the end zone of the Mavericks. Including the PATs by Julian Dohrendorf led the Hurricanes now (34:15). Gladbach Sascha Jungblut was able to correct with a 32-yard field goal at (34:18), the result still, but no longer endanger the victory for Kiel.
With this eleventh victory of the Baltic Hurricanes remain undefeated and the North championship. Next Sunday, the Hurricanes must plat at Georg-Gassmann-Stadium against the Marburg Mercenaries.
